BAA

What is a BAA?

In scientific and medical literature, we see various interpretations of this term. However, based on a definition, BAAs are concentrates (mixtures) of natural substances or substances identical to natural biologically active substances that may be used directly or that may be added to food.
BAAs are acquired from plant, animal or mineral raw materials, and also through chemical or biotechnological procedure. There are three classes of BAAs:
Nutriceutics – BAAs used for modification of chemical structure of human food (supplementary sources of nutrients: proteins, amino acids, fats, sacharids, vitamins, mineral substances, fibre).

Para-pharmaceuticals – substances whose chief functional principle is extracts and herbal compounds (phytological preparations) used for prevention, ancillary therapy and support to the functioning of organs and systems.
Probiotics – live useful bacteria helping to regenerate natural micro flora in an organism.
